Beverly J. Mosher passed away surrounded by loving family on March 9, 2026 at her home on an unseasonably warm and sunny day that she would have loved. She was 86.
Beverly was born in
Berlin, WI on December 16, 1939, to George and Lillian (Krueger) Marks. She was the second of five siblings. She graduated from Berlin High School. She worked in various positions before retiring after more than twenty years of employment with Sears. Beverly married the love of her life and best friend, Gary Mosher, on January 23, 1960. Gary and Beverly welcomed two children, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. They were the world to Beverly, and they loved her tremendously in return. Beverly entered life with a strong recognition that there is a general lack of mothering in the world, and she set about filling that gap for all those around her for the rest of her life. Beverly embodied service and compassion, and she cared deeply for all those in her circle. Whether sharing her home with her family, caring for her parents, or driving to Madison every week to help raise respectful grandsons, Beverly gave from her heart and with an unassuming ease that made people want to be around her. This was likely never more apparent than in the years of excellent care she provided for her beloved husband during his battle with Alzheimer's. People who knew Beverly described how welcome and taken care of they felt in her presence. Her grandchildren benefited greatly from her chocolate cake and ice cream cones at wildly inappropriate times and in wildly questionable amounts. We all benefited from her attitude of lifelong learning that brought shrewd, practical advice. Her nurturing extended to her home and yard, where she spent countless hours tending to her garden and chatting with her neighbors. But mostly, we learned from her humility and work ethic. She was, simply put, a force of love and service in a world that could use a lot more of that. For a woman as humble and self-sacrificing as Bev was, we could all only hope to be as rich as she was in family, friends, and faith.
Beverly is survived by her son, Douglas Mosher (Kate Robinson), her daughter Amy Mosher-Garvey (Joseph Garvey), six devoted grandsons – Josh Garvey, Ryne Mosher (Maggie), Jake Garvey (Emma Piepenbrok), Kieran Garvey (Malia Stone), Aidan Garvey (Ava Shager), and Logan Garvey; two great grandchildren, Grayson and Emilia Garvey; three brothers – Mike Marks, Matt Marks (Annie), Tom Marks (Nancy), special daughter-in-law Julie Peters, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Mosher; her parents, George Marks and Lillian Bach, and her sister, Cecilia Carroll.
Amy and Doug would like to send a special thank you to Beverly's nieces, Cheryl Dow and Denise Strange, and her sister-in-law, Kristin Belongia, for the care and companionship they shared with Beverly. To appropriately honor Beverly, she would strongly recommend you plant a garden or a tree that you can enjoy for years to come as she did in her own yard. For those who prefer, memorials will be directed equally to the
American Cancer Society and Most Blessed Sacrament St. Peter's Parish in Beverly's name.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 12 noon at the Poklasny Funeral Home at 870 W. South Park Ave.
Oshkosh, WI. Father Jerry Pastors will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service. Private committal services will be held.
