Julie Deanne Saul, 71, passed away at her home in Jefferson, Iowa on Monday, July 28. She was born on January 3, 1954 in Estherville, Iowa the daughter of Clifford and Mary (Bryan) Saul. She was a Waldorf graduate of 1974 in Secretarial Science, but returned to Westmar for her degree in education. She began as an elementary school teacher in Iowa, before moving to the Phoenix, Arizona area in the mid 80's to continue teaching. She later started training in Special Education and got her Masters from Northern Area University in 2001. Julie moved back to Iowa to work in the AEA as a Special Education Consultant in the Jefferson area. She touched the lives of many students through the years, and always had a soft spot in her heart for teaching 4th grade.
In 2003 Julie adopted her daughter Julia Faith Lei Saul from China. Julia was the answer to life-long prayers, as Julie's #1 desire was to be a mother. Julia is and always will be a blessing to Julie's life. The mother-daughter team traveled on many vacations through the years, and Julie guided Julia to focus on education and a strong work ethic. Julie always had a primary desire to love people and love God. Julie's faith was steadfast, wherever life took her, she remained a devoted member of the church, always finding a loving church family to be part of.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Cliff Saul. She is survived by: Daughter Julia Saul, Brother Mike (Melody) Saul, Sister Joni Saul, Nephews: Jason Saul, Chad Saul, Adam (Taya) Dragoon, Great Nieces: Jaylee Dragoon and Addy Dragoon, and numerous other family members and friends.
