Julie June (DeVault) Wolverton, 71 of Byesville, passed away on Sunday (August 10, 2025) at The Enclave of Cambridge after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis and dementia.
She was born on November 9, 1953 in Uhrichsville, daughter of the late Howard Edward and Margaret Ellen (Copeland) DeVault Sr.
Mrs. Wolverton had retired from the Cambridge State Hospital and also worked at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She put her faith in Jesus in August 2011 and was a Christian. She enjoyed listening to country music, watching the Hallmark and Lifetime channels, and unsolved mystery shows. She loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred David Wolverton II, whom she married on July 22, 1972; brothers, Randall E. DeVault and Howard E. "Eddie" (Julie) DeVault Jr.; sister, Ruthellen M. (Seth) Voorhies; sister-in-law, Vicki DeVault; step-brother, Ronald (Patricia) Hoey; great-granddaughter, Emersyn Jo Kendall; three nieces; and two nephews.
She is survived by her daughter, Nikki (Chad) Robinson of Byesville; her two sons, Bruce (Melissa Watkins) Wolverton and Fred "David" Wolverton III, both of Byesville; nine grandchildren, Andy (Colleen) Sigman, Brody (Kristin) Robinson, Aly (Robbie) Arnold, Emma Robinson, Kelsey (Derek) Muncy, Tori (Karlee) Wolverton, Courtney (Brian) Kendall, Logan (Isabella Burke) Wolverton, and Amberleigh Wolverton; eleven great-grandchildren, Paisley and Raelynn Sigman, Rayna and Bennett Robinson, Kimberly, Kealee, Derek, and Deaken Muncy, Jaylann Wolverton, and Mason and Laikyn Kendall; brother, John (Pam) DeVault of Buffalo; sisters, Elizabeth (John) Reeder of Columbus, Cathy (Tom) Cota of Byesville, and Amy (Waylon) Mohler of Cambridge; a special nephew, Tyler (Danielle) Cota and their children, Leah and Cohen; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike Wolverton, Vicki (Terry) Dennis, Cindy (Tinker) Harding, and Bobbi Galliamore; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (August 13, 2025) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Nate Davis officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
A dinner will be held at the Byesville VFW following the conclusion of the services.
