I met Julio in the early 1980s when he was teaching at BCC and I was art critic for the Berkshire Eagle. I enjoyed his outsize personality, the group he gathered around him at the Central Block and, of course, his artwork.

My Condolences to Julio's family. We lived next door to Julio in Pittsfield. Julio gifted my son's two beautiful prints that he did. They are hanging up in TX. now. I have a lovely jade plant he gave to me before he moved. He was a wonderful man.

I met Julio through Sara Kataoka who taught at MacMurray College. We met again in the Berkshires after many years and I was introduced to Julio, his art and wonderful sense of humor. I will always remember both with fondness.
