June Ashton Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 11, 2024.
June Pauline Ashton, a beloved resident of Shelby Township, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on November 24, 1932, in Derby, England, she was the cherished daughter of Ronald and Ida Mae (White) Pickering.
June grew up in England, where she met and married the love of her life, Frederick Henry Ashton, in Derbyshire, England in June of 1954. They shared a wonderful and loving marriage that spanned 68 years, filled with joy, adventure, and enduring companionship until Frederick's passing on October 17, 2021.
In 1956, June and Frederick embarked on a new journey together, moving to the United States. They lived in various places, including California and Georgia, before finally settling in Michigan. June was a devoted homemaker, known for her immaculate home and her warm, loving nature as a wife and mother. She also found joy in arranging silk flowers and was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Shelby Township, where her faith and fellowship were an integral part of her life.
June's legacy lives on through her children, Gail Guzowski, Paul (Janet) Ashton, and Mark (Karen) Ashton; her 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Ida Pickering; and her brothers, Ronald Pickering and Brian Pickering.
June's family will hold a memorial service at a later date to celebrate her life and honor her memory.
