June E. Bryan

June E. "Junebug" Bryan, a cherished mother, nanny, sister and friend to all who knew her, passed away on February 20, 2026, at Hospice of Dayton, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 74. Born on June 19, 1951, in Washington, D.C., June lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, marked by her love and devotion to her family, her community, and her unwavering faith in Jesus.

A dedicated professional, June spent many years serving Huber Heights City Schools, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of countless children as a cafeteria worker and as assistant director of the Latchkey Program. Her selfless spirit and infectious laughter radiated warmth wherever she went, as she was known for her loud and friendly demeanor. June was a person who never met a stranger, always ready with a smile and something to share when someone left her home.

June was immensely proud of her family, which included her beloved daughter, Holly Acker (Brad), and her treasured grandchildren, Chelsey Lemon (Bruce), Richard Gonzales, and Savannah "Lily" White (Eli). The joy of being a great-grandmother to Willow and Maddox filled her heart with unparalleled happiness. She often spoke of her special connections with her sisters, Brenda Lafferty, Kathy Crews, and Donna Gehring (Tim), as well as her sister-in-law, Deanne Foley. The family bond extended even further to many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family in Virginia, with whom she held dear connections. She is also survived by her dear friend, Bev Richardson.

In addition to her family, June enjoyed nurturing her creative side, spending hours making beautiful jewelry with beads. She relished moments spent traveling to Montana with her sisters to visit their brother, always finding peace and delight in the mountains and wildflowers. Her porch was a welcoming haven, where she loved sitting with neighborhood friends, engaging in laughter and uplifting conversations that lingered like the scent of blooming flowers. June loved spending time with her beloved cat, Kitten.

Though her life was filled with light and love, June also faced the sorrow of losing several cherished loved ones, including her parents, Carlton and Ruth Foley; her husband, Kennedy L. Bryan; her son, Larry "Shane" Hopkins; her great-grandson, Beau White; her sister, Carolyn Sherman; and her brother, Carlton Foley. Their memories will forever hold a sacred place in her heart.

June's legacy is one of kindness, joy, and deep love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories, woven together by love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit. Her zest for life and her dedication to caring for others will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Junebug, you will always be remembered as a beacon of love and joy, and your spirit will live on in the hearts of those you touched.
