June Compton, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at the age of 95. Her life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and an unwavering love for her family and her passions, leaving memories that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.

Born on June 1, 1930, in Hubbell, Nebraska, June was the heart and soul of her family. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Dale Compton, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Their lives were filled with love, laughter, support, and devotion to their family. Together, they raised two children: Julie and David, instilling in them the same traits they displayed in their lives. June's love extended to her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader, always present at birthdays, graduations, and games, offering hugs, support, and words of encouragement. Her home was a haven of love, where family gatherings, especially Christmas, were filled with celebration, laughter and stories that connected the entire family.

A proud Wildcat fan, June's love for Kansas State University sports was well known. A fixture at every home game, she cheered passionately for the K-State Wildcats, whether at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Bramlage Coliseum, or road tripping for bowl games and NCAA tournament games. She was a season ticket holder for over four decades, and her tailgate dishes became cherished traditions.

June is survived by her children, Julie (Kevin) Poyser and David (Amy Jo) Compton; her grandchildren, Shawn (Amanda) Poyser, Matt Poyser, Brian Poyser, Gabby Compton, Josh Compton (fiancée, Sinclaire Miramontez), and Joe Compton; her great-grandchildren Grayson Poyser and Elliott Poyser, who will carry her love forward. She is also survived by her sister, Helen (Harlan) Schardt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her parents, Lee Roy and Mary (Verley) Young, her sister Mary Lee Berggren and brother John Young.

A visitation will be held at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 2, 2025. The funeral will follow the next day at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 3, 2025, with the Interment at 3:00 P.M. at the Mahaska Cemetery, Mahaska, Kansas.

June lived a life full of love, laughter, and purple pride. Her light will continue to shine in the lives she touched, and her memory will forever be a blessing.

Condolences to the family may be sent to Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan, Kansas, 66502.
