June Duttle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Behr's Funeral Home on Dec. 18, 2025.
June B. "Babe" Duttle, age 97, of Dubuque, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at home with her family. To celebrate June's life, family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Jonathan Crawford officiating.
Babe was born on June 16, 1928, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Anna (Miller) Kalloway.
Babe attended Marshall Grade School, Jefferson Middle School and Dubuque Senior High School. After school, she went to work at Farber Bag and later worked as a Nurses Aide and Medical Technician at St. Dominic Villa until her retirement. She married Raymond Duttle on January 9, 1954, in Savannah, Illinois. They celebrated 57 wedding anniversaries together before he passed away on March 13, 2011. She was always on the go and a very active person. Babe had a competitive side and liked to play baseball and go bowling. Babe also enjoyed sitting quietly sewing, knitting and putting together jigsaw puzzles. In her later years, Babe kept a watchful eye on things, and became the best Neighborhood Watch person you could ever ask for. Babe also loved all dogs, big and small. She was known to be a little bit feisty with a heart of gold. Babe was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Those left to cherish Babe's memory include
3 daughters,
Linda Willey, Dubuque, IA,
Michele "Mike" Thayer, Dubuque, IA
and Deinne "Dee" Kretchmar, Liberty, MO;
a bonus step-daughter,
Judy Odefey, Dubuque, IA;
11 grandchildren;
20 great-grandchildren;
and 10 great great-grandchildren.
Babe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Duttle; a grandson, Craig Kretchmar; and 14 siblings.
The family would like to thank her daughter, Linda, and her neighbor Linda Behrens, for their outstanding care of Babe, allowing her to stay in the home she loved so much.
