June D. Gary Bright, age 76, departed this life on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family in Aiken, SC. Born June 22, 1948, in Greensboro, NC to the late Wallace Donnell and the late Catherine Dixon Shaw. June was educated with the Guilford County Greensboro NC Public School System. She worked for Pepper Hill Nursing Home where she met the love of her life, Raymond Bright. They united in holy matrimony on April 16, 2007. June loved life to the fullest with those beautiful brown eyes and contagious smiles that could light up any room and before you know it you were smiling too. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, listening to southern soul & blues, watching wrestling, westerns, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bright, Jr, her sister, Nina Mae Shaw, and her brother Charlie Frank Dickerson. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Wesley Gary, Jr., daughter, Aretha Shaw-McFadden (Harry); granddaughter, Sasha Canty; three great grandchildren, Tony Williams, Jr, Matthew Stone, and Malani Stone, all of Aiken, SC; one sister-in-law, Alice Hinton of Atlanta, GA; six nieces, Catherine Lewis, Rev. Annette Greene (Julian), Brenda Key (James) of Aiken, SC, Alice Mercer, Cadis Dickerson of New Ellenton, Rev. Connie Dickerson Landy; nephew, James Dickerson (Theresa) of Windsor; and a host of sorrowing family and friends.
