June E. (Voight) Kruger entered her heavenly home with her Savior Jesus Christ on September 18, 2025. June Elaine Voight, formally of Neilsville, WI, was born on June 18, 1930, to Edward and Ida (VandeBerg) Voight. After graduating from high school, she married Leslie Eugene Haines on June 18th, 1948. To this union 5 children were born. While living in Neilsville and Hutchinson MN, June stayed home to raise her children and help on the farm. The family moved to Centerville, SD in 1963, where she helped at the family’s pool hall in Lennox, SD. June and Gene were divorced a few years later. June began working in Vermillion SD for the telephone company and the REA. She married Charles Kruger on November 11, 1970. June worked as a payroll specialist at the University of South Dakota until her retirement in 1995.
During her lifetime, June enjoyed interior design, bowling, playing games with her family late into the night, and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Eastern Star, presiding as Grand Matron for several years. Above all she enjoyed her family.
June is survived by her children, Kay (Michael) Austin of Centerville, the twins Tamara (Scott) Krieger of Elwood NE, Thomas (Margo) Haines, Avon SD, Crystal Haines of Kansas City MO, son-in-law Merle Lawrenson Sun City AZ, and 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
June was preceded in death by her daughter Connie Lawrenson, husband Charles Kruger, parents Edward and Ida Voight, brothers Mervin, Harvey, and Lyle, and infant sister Ruby.
Following a memorial service, June will be buried at the Riverview Cemetery in Centerville. Memorials may be directed to the Vermillion Eastern Star Chapter, the Centerville Care Center, or the Riverview Cemetery in Centerville.
