Laurens
June Martin Lancaster, age 85, of Laurens, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife for 66 years of Thomas Cothran Lancaster.
Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Claude H. Martin, Sr and Corre Stone Martin. June worked at 3M, Horace Mann, Kaiser, Gray Court School and Whitten Center, and she loved her friends at Bojangles every morning.
Along with her husband Cothran, she is survived by her sons, Kenneth Dean Lancaster (Rebecca) of Aynor, SC, and Thomas Glenn Lancaster (Tammy) of Ninety Six, SC; grandchildren, Jeremiah Lancaster, Caleb Lancaster, Andy Lancaster (Nicole), Corey Lancaster, Holden Taylor (Farren) and Michael Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Owen Lancaster, Remi Lancaster, Brooks Starnes and Wylder Taylor.
In addition to her parents, June is predeceased by her sisters, Thelma Coates, Emily Sawyer and Laura Hamby, and her brothers, Edward "Tut" Martin and Claude Martin, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Rev J.D. Putman. Burial will follow at Westview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.
Memorials may be made Hospice of Laurens County, 1304 Springdale Drive, Clinton, SC 29325.
