My sister Heidi (post below) shared Dr. Pollock´s obituary with me a few days ago and I was saddened to learn of her passing. I share my sister´s sentiments and feel very lucky to have known Dr. Pollack and her extended family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I find myself thinking of Dr. Pollack every year at this time, and I was saddened to recently come across her obituary. My sister, Thea, and I had the privilege of helping care for her mother in the early 1980s. For many years, we shared an annual January lunch, a tradition that continued even after Lillian passed. I always enjoyed hearing updates about the medical seminars she attended that year, as well as about her children, grandchildren, and her brothers, Donald and Bob. She truly lived a wonderful life. Peace and comfort to your family. - Heidi (Wiggert) Petras

Roanne and I have been out of the country and returned last night. June and Jon were wounderful and beloved members of the Kolot haLev Jewish Community choir. I cherished her very much. Yehi zikhra barukh. May her soul rest in peace

My (almost) 100 year old mother, Marcia Boteler Kraft MD, was a classmate and friend of June and was saddened to discover her obituary in the Post. They were long term friends. I browsed through some old notes and learned that they met in 1942 and were classmates for both undergrad and medical school at GW, finishing in 1949. They often went for inexpensive Chinese dinners after class and then studied together. According to my mom, they competed for the best grades and my mom says she won, but who knows. They had parallel careers, with my mom heading up Maternal and Child Health in Prince Georges County. They met twice a week for Grand Rounds and the "lunch and lecture" series at Holy Cross Hospital. They went to the 50th GW reunion at the Cosmos Club in 1999 together, for which my mom says June dressed elegantly and my mom wore a suit. I understand June also helped organize the 45th reunion. They probably lost touch about 10 years ago when my mom moved near me in Ellicott City MD. My condolences to the family; it sounds like June was a lovely person and I know my mom thought very highly of her.

June was a stalwart member of the soprano section of Kolot HaLev. She would call me every week to check the time of rehearsals (I was the section leader) and what music to bring. She was sharp, witty, gracious, and a true lady in every sense of the word. She will be remembered as a guiding light in the firmament. A doctor, a healer, and a matriach. May her memory be a blessing to all her family and everyone who knew her.

May her memory be a blessing.
I have fond memories of Dr. Pollack from 70 years ago (the 1950's :) when her daughter, Cathy, and I were the best of friends. She leaves an amazing and loving legacy.

If I were to describe my amazing aunt in one word.... It would be virtuous. Aunt June has been our family matriarch, an inspiration, and the epitome of compassion, warmth, and strength. She embodied determination, independence and devotion, elegance and indubitably class.
Always a self-disciplined top student, Aunt June excelled in her field of medicine, breaking barriers, and graduating at the head of her class... and while raising a family. A truly modern woman.
Her commitment to our extended family was so prominent in her priorities. We all felt her unwavering attention and dedication. Aunt June always made me feel seen and important. I will always cherish her for that. I will always love you Aunt June and always remember.

`Aristotle believed virtue harmonizes reason, desire, and emotion, leading to acting ethically as a natural, joyful path.´ Genuinely sweet, kind, loving, and generous to her innermost core....Aunt June will remain a pillar of what is truly beautiful and possible in our world.
God bless....

Dear Pollack family and all of Dr. June's grandchildren, please accept my deepest sympathy on her passing. We so loved het and your family. I adored visiting your childhood home in Potomac. Your parents were so much fun. I remember having a great time aa an adult when your mom and mine would take the Metroliner up to NYC to go to a concert at Carnegie Hall as my mom had seasons tickets in a box for a few years. I would come into the city and have dinner with them. Your mom was always so gracious and fun. And thank goodness for Geoffrey taking her out to the movies and lunch on Sundays as he would bring her to see my mom when she was failing. God Bless and may she rise in glory and soar with Angels as she is reunited with your dad and Philip. My prayers are with all of you. Meg Glass
