June Wood Taylor

June Wood Taylor, 81, of Portsmouth, VA, passed away May 14, 2010. She was born in Elizabeth City, NC and was the daughter of the late Willis and Inez Wood. June retired from Welton, Duke and Hawks Insurance Company as a bookkeeper after 48 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Marie L. Taylor of Portsmouth, VA and Kathy T. Gallup of Virginia Beach, VA; a son, Howard "Pug" Taylor and wife Elaine of South Mills, NC; three grandchildren, Chrissy Czerwonka, Sammy Taylor and Matthew Taylor Bell; and one great granddaughter. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Philip J. Parker. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or American Heart Association.
