Justin Beam, 53, passed away the morning of September 19, 2025, following a brief illness. Justin was a 1990 graduate of Apollo High School and later earned two associate degrees from Owensboro Community and Technical College. His deep compassion for animals led him to work at both an animal hospital and a local shelter, where his quiet dedication and gentle care left a lasting impact.

Justin had a gift for connection and never met a stranger. Whether in line at the store or out on a walk, he could strike up a conversation with anyone, always leaving others feeling seen and heard. He was especially grateful for the kindness of those around him, including his caring neighbors, the Owens family.

Justin was an avid reader, and a collector of books, music, and film. He had a deep appreciation for the arts, and a zest for learning. He was most content at his home of nearly 50 years, where his happiest moments were spent with his pets, family, and friends.

In his younger years, Justin explored the beauty of North America. He traveled along the West Coast from Baja to Big Sur, swam with dolphins in Key West, wandered through the swamps of the Everglades, and explored the ruins of Tulum. One of his most treasured recent memories was a road trip to Illinois with his parents and brother to share a simple picnic and witness the awe of a total solar eclipse.

He is survived by his mother Joy Timbrook and stepfather, Billy Timbrook; father, John L. Beam, Sr.; his brother, John Lee Beam; his stepsisters, Beth Orlik and Sara Tribble; his nephew, Tyler Beam; his niece, Trinity Beam, and several aunts and uncles, including Nancy Mollette of Owensboro. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marjorie and Dr. Charles Hornaday, and Jack and Vivien Beam, a dear cousin, Josh Story, his aunt Julie Beam Cross, and a best friend, Eric Bartley.

Justin will rest in eternal peace at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the local Salvation Army Food Bank, Crossroads Food Bank, or the local It Takes A Village Animal Shelter.

Sleep well, dear Justin. Please visit often in our dreams. We will love you and miss you for the rest of our days, until we meet again.
