Justin Deters Obituary
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 75 years Joyce (Venhuizen), his children, Nancy and Jim Steenwyk, Laurie and David Sluiter, and Sally and Tom Scholten, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Brian and Kim Steenwyk (Regan, Reese, Reid), Katie and Paul Stewart (Zander, Gavin, Dylan), Aaron and Christa Steenwyk (Ashlynn, Zion), Andrew and Heidi Steenwyk (Breslin, Bodey, Crew), Jared Sluiter, Kylie and Ryan Wissner (Bowen, Clarke, August), Kyndra Sluiter, Cort and Kim Scholten (Hadley), Connor Scholten, and Chace Scholten; his brother Alvin Deters, his sisters-in-law Norma De Jonge, and Carol Vanden Bosch.
Justin grew up in East Saugatuck, he was one of eleven children. His mother passed away when he was seven years old; he and his siblings had always remained very close. Justin was a member of Holland Heights Christian Reformed Church where he served as a deacon. Justin was a home builder and a union carpenter. In retirement Justin and Joyce enjoyed spending their winters in Florida and summers at Gun Lake.
A private funeral service is planned. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to Samaritan's Purse. www.yntemafh.com

I am so grateful to have known Justin while he lived at Royal Park Place. He and Joyce were a lovely couple. Once when I had written a devotional about digging potatoes, Justin shared with me how their family would bury the garden potatoes in a deep hole and cover them with straw so the potatoes would stay good until the next Spring. He always had a smile and a hint of a twinkle in his eyes. My deepest sympathies to Joyce and all of his loved ones. Sincerely, Cindy Nyhoff, former chaplain at Royal Park Place.
