Justin McQuitty Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gallop Funeral Services - Nags Head on Sep. 19, 2025.
Justin McQuitty, 32, of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of August 16, 2025. Though his life was far too short, Justin left behind a lasting impact on all who knew him through his humor, his loyalty, and his unwavering love for family.

Justin had a gift for bringing joy into the room. He loved to joke around, lighten heavy moments, and remind those around him not to take life too seriously. Family was at the center of who he was. He wanted nothing more but to be a devoted father to his beloved daughter Halia Ann Boyd, who he loved dearly. He dreamed of being the kind of father who would cheer her on in every stage of life.

A beloved son of Rae Ann Booth, Justin was also a loving brother to Kevin Campbell (Lauren Mendez), Danielle Lane, Hannah Ferguson, and Mikey Johnson. He shared a close bond with his brothers-in-law, Patrick Lane and Joshua Ferguson, and he was a proud and playful uncle to his five nieces and three nephews, Jonah Lane, Josiah Lane, Bishop Campbell, Brielle Lane, Scarlett Campbell, Fallon Ferguson, Bexley Lane and Maddon Ferguson who absolutely adored him. He was also deeply loved by some very close family members, Michael Johnson (father), Nancy Whitehurst (grandmother), Luther Johnson (grandfather), and Elicia Bethard (aunt).

Recently, Justin experienced one of the most meaningful milestones of his life, his baptism, an occasion he was deeply proud of and one that gave him great peace. His faith marked the beginning of a new chapter, one filled with hope and determination.

Justin's story was just beginning. He had faced many struggles and trials in his young life, but he was overcoming them with strength and courage. He was setting his eyes on the future-dreaming of raising his daughter, building a family, and one day coaching his children's teams. Those who knew him could see the love and pride he carried for Halia, and the future he envisioned for them together.

Justin's legacy will live on in the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the memories carried by all who loved him. His life is a reminder of the importance of compassion, family, and faith.

As we gather to honor Justin, we do so not only in sorrow but also in gratitude for the time we were given with him. His story is not over- it continues in the family he cherished, and in the love that endures. "Remember me, but don't mourn. Rejoice in the memories we shared, and let my laughter live on in you."
