Our loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Justin Clint Powell, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2025, at the age of 50. Justin was born on October 30, 1974, in Granger, Utah, and lived his life with a passion that matched his vibrant personality. He never met a stranger and welcomed everyone he met with open arms and a warm smile.
An avid LSU fan and devoted outdoorsman, Justin found joy in fishing, hunting, and the simple pleasures of nature. These were experiences he cherished deeply and loved sharing with his family and friends. Justin was also an incredibly talented artist whose creativity knew no bounds.
Justin’s infectious spirit was matched only by his wisdom. He had an uncanny ability to listen, offering thoughtful advice and guidance that made people feel seen and heard. His bilingual skills enabled him to connect with people from all walks of life, further highlighting his compassionate and caring nature.
Known for his culinary talents, Justin was a phenomenal cook whose meals brought people together and created lasting memories. However, his greatest role in life was that of a father. Justin was the best dad ever, and his unwavering love and dedication to his children was evident in all that he did.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Justin’s faith was an important part of his life. We take comfort in knowing that he has returned to the loving arms of his Father in Heaven, where we are certain he was met by his brother, nephew, and grandparents—whom he loved so much.
Justin is survived by his parents, Kent and Kathy Powell; children, Natalie Leal, Marion Bayuelo (David), Paolina Perez, Rafael Perez, and Ryan Powell (companion Brenda); siblings, Jeff Powell, Julie Comeaux (Cory), and Jared Powell (Kaylen); grandchildren, Izak, Isabella, Julian, Aria, Leo, Joshua, David, Katerina, and Rosa; and nieces and nephews, Angelle, Connor, Ace and Aria.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Josh Powell; and nephew, Braedyn Powell.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Powell, Jared Powell, Ace Powell, Ryan Powell, Cory Comeaux, Connor Comeaux, Rafael Perez, and David Bayuelo.
Justin may no longer walk among us, but his legacy of kindness, wisdom, and love will remain. May he rest in peace.
