Justin Thomas Obituary

Visit the Elgin Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.

I tried to live in this old world, and I did the best I could, but when God reached out His hand,

I grabbed on and was led home.

I know God will open wide your understanding as to why these things must be.

Dying is only a part of living, therefore celebrate my life…

Justin Charles Thomas was born to Christine Irene Goodman on September 2, 1992, in Austin, Texas.

Justin was a nurturing young man who attended the public schools of Bastrop County and Tarrant County.

Justin was very compassionate when spending time with family and friends. He was loved by all. His personality was kind, loving, and positive, especially when he was with his children, whom he was very proud to be their father.

Your wings were ready, but our heart was not…

On January 17, 2025, Justin heard the voice of Jesus and left his earthly tabernacle. Justin is preceded in death by his grandmothers and grandfathers, uncles, and one aunt.

Justin was blessed with thirty-two years, and his children will cherish his legacy, JaVeon Thomas and Journee Thomas; his mother, Christine Goodman; his sisters, Briana and Lacey; his brothers, Nicolas Jr. and Lee; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

… think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched…

for nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much…

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Friday, February 7th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  A Home-Going Celebration will be held at St. James Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, February 8th at 11:00 AM with Dr. B.W. McClendon, Sr., Pastor.  Interment will follow at Magdalene Cemetery of Bastrop.
