Peggy White Obituary
She was born September 2, 1944, in Pryor, Oklahoma to William Newton and Florence Davis Newton. The youngest of 4 children, the family moved to Coffeyville Kansas when she was a young child.
She met and married her childhood sweetheart, Tony White in 1962 while he was in the marines. They moved to Topeka Kansas in 1965 after his honorable discharge to start a family. They moved back to Coffeyville 10 years later.
Peggy worked at Windsor Place and Medicalodge east for over 20 years in the dietary department.
In 2002, the couple retired to Kingman Arizona, enjoying a healthy social life as members of American Legion post 14 and Moose chapter 1954.
Peggy returned to Coffeyville upon her soul mate's passing in 2014. She went to the Church of Christ and enjoyed her grandchildren until she moved to Columbia Tennessee to be closer to her daughter. There she was a member of the Mooresville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Anna Mae Carson and brother Don Newton.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Newberry Smith of Killeen Texas, her son, Tony White Jr. (Gale) of Topeka Kansas, her daughter Amanda Conner (Derrick) of Columbia Tennessee, grandchildren Haylie Dixon of Owasso, Oklahoma, Drew White (Linda) of Rossville Kansas and Calvin Nosbisch of Topeka Kansas. Great grandchildren, Caydin Weintraub, Mason, Maeve, and Elli Dixon, Brylin and Abel White.
A memorial service celebrating Peggy's life will be on Saturday, March 14th at 11am, at Restlawn Memorial Park, Coffeyville Kansas.
