Kail Thomas Brown was born on August 5, 2002, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He grew up in Woodbine, Iowa and attended school there graduating in the class of 2021. While in school Kail tried his hand at many sports and activities including football, baseball and wrestling. He was also a part of a school speech team that earned their way to state. Kail was working for Natural Fertilizer in Woodbine.
From an early age, Kail found joy in the great outdoors. Fishing and hunting were not just hobbies for him; they were passions that connected him to nature. Kail's enthusiasm for agriculture revealed his deep appreciation for the land and how to care for it. His talent for operating heavy equipment allowed him to transform his surroundings and make a meaningful contribution to the world he loved so dearly. Above all, Kail cherished the time spent with family and friends. His kindness created a welcoming atmosphere wherever he went. He had a gift for making people feel included and valued, creating bonds that will withstand the test of time. Whether it was a spontaneous hangout or a planned adventure, Kail's presence was a beacon of joy.
Kail died on August 22, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 22 years and 17 days.
Kail was preceded in death by his aunt, Karla Melby. He is survived by his parents, Kurtis Brown and Katie Pedersen of Woodbine; sister, Kimberlin Brown; grandparents, Neil and Janelle Brown of Woodbine and William and Shirley Pedersen of Mineola, Iowa; uncles, Kevin Brown (Amanda Landon) Logan, Iowa, Travis Melby of Moorhead, Iowa, Benjamin Pedersen of Council Bluffs, Nathan Pedersen of Council Bluffs, Nicholas Pedersen of Omaha and Kristopher (Pricila) Pedersen of Omaha; and many other relatives and friends.
