Obituary

Our dear, beautiful, fiery Kaitlyn Elizabeth Hughes was the most wonderful person, friend, family member, granddaughter, sister and daughter. She left us in this world far too soon on February 25, 2025. In her 23 years of life she made such an impact on so many people. She made more of a difference than she will ever understand. Kaitlyn always aspired for greatness and excellence, and should’ve been a Nuclear Engineer, paving the path towards clean energy and sharing overly complicated explanations on how that would happen. Kaitlyn loved tattoos, coffee, ice cream, all the animals in her life, hockey, Rick and Morty, The Nightmare Before Christmas; but most of all she loved her friends and family with her whole heart. There are no words to express the kind of person she was, the kind of woman she was becoming, and the friend she was to all of us. We were more than proud of her.
Kaitlyn is survived by her mother (Kerri Hughes), father (Thomas Hughes), sister (Samantha Hughes), grandmother (Amber Hines), grandfather (C. Scott Hines), grandmother (Juanita Hughes), family members Gregg Weaver, Corey Weaver, Jake Weaver, Kim Whaley, Kaitlyn Whaley, Elena Whaley, and countless friends, family and people who loved her deeply. She’ll be joining her grandfather, Raymond Hughes, in heaven. Our beautiful guardian angel.
