Kalawatee “Kala” Ramphal, 77, of Boynton Beach, FL passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026. She was born to her late parents, Giadat and Evelyn Ramgolam, on November 30, 1948 in #59 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, Guyana and grew up in #64 Village. She and her late husband, Victor, moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1980. They then moved to Florida with their two daughters, Victoria and Rachel, and her late mother-in-law, Jasodra, in 1988. She was a retired senior bank teller (and a former teacher) who enjoyed traveling, Turkish and Korean movies/tv shows, watching YouTube, cooking, gardening, attending mandir, spending time with family and friends and in her younger days playing ping pong and reading romance novels. She was a truly caring, giving, kind-hearted woman who was deeply loved and will be missed dearly by so many. She is survived by her daughters, son-in-law, brother, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-laws, aunties, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, grand-nieces and other close family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SCOBEE-COMBS-BOWDEN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, in the funeral home chapel.
