Kane M. Pedersen

Kane M. Pedersen, age 29, of Storm Lake, Iowa gained his angels wings on March 7, 2023 after a brief illness.
Celebration of Life services will take place Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell, Iowa. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the CHURCH. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of arrangements. The family asks that attendees wear their favorite sports team shirt and casual attire.
Kane Michael Pedersen was born January 12, 1994, to Dale and Dorie (Erie) Pedersen at Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa. He was welcomed home by his sister, Kelli. He was raised on a farm outside of Newell, Iowa. Kane was a lifelong member of the Nain Lutheran Church as he achieved ten years of perfect attendance in Sunday School. He attended Newell-Fonda School, graduating in 2012. He loved all sports and while in high school he played golf and football. He made 1st Team All-State Golf his Senior year. After high school, Kane went on to attend Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, graduating with his Associate Degree in 2014. He started working at the Storm Lake Parks Department, then went to work at the Storm Lake Wastewater Department for seven years, where he achieved his Grade 4 Wastewater license.
Kane was an avid sports fan with his favorite team being the Chicago Cubs. He loved to be outdoors, especially if it involved hunting and fishing. Kane enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog, Riley. He loved his niece Taevah and nephew Canden, teaching them things that an uncle would do. He enjoyed playing with kids and teaching them tricks. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish Kane's memory are his parents: Dale and Dorie Pedersen of Newell, Iowa; sister: Kelli Erie and her husband Peter Ganahl of Ankeny; niece: Taevah Ganahl; nephew: Canden Ganahl; aunts: Diane (Keith Marshall) of Indianola; Jolene (Randy) Fulks; uncles: Bruce (Jo) Erie of Newell; Jeff Erie of Council Bluffs; Steve Williams of Storm Lake; many cousins, great aunts and uncles and other family members and many friends.
Welcoming him into heaven are his grandparents: Gunnar and Joanne Pedersen, Louis and Helen Erie, aunt Carol Williams, cousin Matthew Erie and his great grandparents.
