Kara Ann Leo

Kara Ann Leo died on June 18, 2021, at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh, PA. Her death was the result of a tragic incident in Upper St. Clair, PA on June 17, 2021. She was born on August 15, 1980, in Pittsburgh. A resident of South Fayette, Kara owned and operated KaraKakes, a specialty bakery in Mt. Lebanon's Beverly Shops.

She was preceded in death by her father Donald Leo and brother Mark Leo. She is survived by her husband, Jared Quinteros and sons Oliver and Owen. She is also survived by her mother, Laurel Laird and husband William Laird; sister Farrell Leo and husband Sean Kramer; stepbrothers Christopher, Michael (Andrea) and Ryan Laird; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kara was a 1999 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and a 2003 graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI with a BS degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. She maintained her business while spending quality time with husband and sons. She took great pride specializing in nut free and food allergy free wedding and cakes for all occasions.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses, social workers and staff at UPMC Mercy as well as the first responders including the Good Samaritan who administered CPR to Kara.
Family and friends are welcome to gather at Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, Peters Township, (724-941-3211) on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 4:30-7:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions in Kara's name for support of her husband and sons to Go Fund Me.
