Karen Lee (Chapman) Arnote, born November 10th, 1949 in Independence, MO passed away peacefully, May 3rd, 2023 after battling several long term illnesses.
Growing up she had numerous outdoor adventures with her parents, Sister, and other relatives including: camping, hunting and fishing trips to Bennett Springs, Current River and several sites in Colorado and Wyoming. She had also been known to sleep in a chicken coop with her Sister a time or two.
She spent her career educating children in the Independence School District (28 years). A majority of her time was spent and loved at Thomas Hart Benton Elementary.
She was involved in several social/community groups including but not limited to: Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, Camp Wildwood and DARE Camp. She always enjoyed spending time with friends from her "Bud Girl Group," Sorority Sisters, These Guys Band and associated fan club members, and numerous other friends. She was of course, the best Mom to her ornery children and never hesitated to open her door to their mischievous friends.
She will forever be loved and missed.
A Visitation will be held Friday June 2nd 4-6pm at Speaks Memorial Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence MO 64055. A funeral service will be Saturday June 3rd, 10 am at the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, 3rd and Market Street, Osceola MO 64776 followed by a burial service at Landaker Cemetery.
