Karen Anne Bluedorn, 68, of Mesa, Arizona, peacefully passed away September 1, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley, East Mesa PCU. Born September 13, 1943 in New Castle, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert Elmer Ward and Anne Frances Ward (McClimans). Karen graduated from Neshannock High School in 1961 and married her high school sweetheart in 1965. Karen dedicated her life to raising two precious children, who she idolized until her last breath. Karen lived life to the fullest and excelled at hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, antique shopping, and carting her family around the country on many adventures. She loved and enjoyed her family and friends. In return, she was loved by many, and she will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband, Charles Frederick Bluedorn of Mesa, AZ; daughter and son-in-law, Lizabeth Dawn (Betsy) and Jeffrey Bond Perner of Santa Fe, NM; son, Charles Britton Bluedorn and Catrina Dawn Benson of Palmdale, CA; mother-in-law, Violet May Bluedorn (Daniels) of Mesa, AZ; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Britton Ward and Roberta Jean Ward (Book) of New Castle, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Susan Lynn Wimer (Ward) and John Grant Wimer of Volant, PA. She was affectionately known as Auntie Karen to her nieces and nephew: Molly, Robin, Jenni, Holly and Jerry; also great-nieces and nephews: Maddy, Emma, Tyler, Zach, Alex, Isaac, Mason, Colin, Brady and Brandon. She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Samuel Bluedorn, Jr. Memorial contributions can be made in Karen's memory to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
