Karen Jean Busam, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 20, 2025, in Milford, Ohio, at the age of 78. Born on December 10, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Karen spent her life enriching the lives of those around her with her warmth, creativity, and zest for life.
A dedicated professional, Karen worked in human resources at SDRC, where her caring nature and keen organizational skills made a lasting impact. After completing her high school education, she embarked on a journey that would lead her to nurture countless relationships, both personally and professionally.
Karen was married to her loving husband, Karl Busam, for many wonderful years, and together, they created a family filled with laughter and love. She is survived by her four sons, Jeff (Lisa), Greg (Kristi), Kevin (Kelly), and Adam (Stacy), who were continuously inspired by her unwavering support and guidance. Her legacy also includes her cherished grandchildren, Kourtney (JR) Wiederhold, Nathan, Kyle (Allison), Dylan, Hunter, Dakota, Alex, and Kylie, along with her great-grandchild, Kolsen Busam and her sister Linda (Bob) Eckert. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and her love for them was boundless. Karen was preceded in death by: her parents Roland and Edna Young,and grandson Logan Busam.
Known for her creative spirit, Karen delighted in crafting and enjoyed camping with family. She possessed a keen eye for a bargain and could often be found at her favorite stores, Kohl's and Kroger, searching for the best deals and sharing her finds with friends and family.
A member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Karen's faith was central to her life and her sense of community was profound.
The family will honor her life and legacy with a Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on November 25, 2025, at 10:00 am, following a visitation that will begin at 9:00 am. Together with family and friends, they will gather to celebrate the remarkable woman she was, reflecting on the memories created, the love shared, and the light she brought into their lives.
In this time of loss, may we find comfort in one another and be reminded of the beautiful moments spent with Karen. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.
