Karen Sue Casbohm, 65, of Ashtabula, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born on September 1, 1960, in Huntington, West Virginia, the daughter of Ellis and Phyllis (Uber) Klingensmith. Karen spent most of her life in the Ashtabula area and was a proud graduate of Harbor High School. In her earlier years, she worked in several local greenhouses, a reflection of her love for nature. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Karen enjoyed watching the game with her dad. She had a passion for writing-especially poetry-which served as a heartfelt outlet for her thoughts and emotions. Karen was known for her friendly nature and her ability to connect with anyone she met. She had a gift for conversation, she was always blunt and told it like it was. With her quick wit and dry, sarcastic sense of humor, she could always make people laugh. She loved cats, collecting stickers and going for car rides. Above all, Karen cherished time spent with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Matthews of Ashtabula, Victor Casbohm of Cleveland, Taylor (Jonathan) Woodring of Ashtabula, and Destini (Collin) Adams of Ashtabula; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her brother, David (Ellen) Klingensmith of Avon Lake. Karen was preceded in death by her parents; and her favorite kitty Cooter. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, OH 44004. Online condolences can be shared at www.ducro.com.
