Karen Sue Costley

Karen Sue Costley, 78, of Borger, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Brown Funeral Directors in Borger, Texas, with Pastor Glenn Hermanson officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, from noon-6 pm, at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, 206 W. 1st St., Borger.
Karen Sue Kates was born on January 17, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Harold Kates and Nancy Richardson. She married Calvin Costley on January 16, 1982. Karen Sue owned The Falcon Motel in Stinnett from 1971 to 1986 and later retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Amarillo. In her later years, she lived at Caprock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Borger, where she made many dear friends.
Sue, as many knew her, loved her family. She adored her grandkids, but truly loved her great-grandchildren, McClane, Murphee, and Ella. She always wanted pictures to keep up with them. Her love for her family is something that will be missed greatly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Costley; her daughter, Dion Rachelle Sims; brothers, Jimmy and Terry Richardson; and her sister, Margie Richardson.
Surviving family members include her sons: Danny Fowler-Sims and wife Susie, and Rusty Sims and wife Chanté, all of Stinnett; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
