Karen Elizabeth Davis, 81, of Blackduck, MN died on Friday, November 7, 2025 under hospice care at her home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck, MN with Dwight Kalvig officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck.
Karen was born on December 10, 1943 in Edgewood, Illinois, the daughter of Lawrence and Helen (Stowers) Colborn. She grew up and attended school in Beloit, Wisconsin. She married Richard Allen Davis in Beloit on October 8, 1960 and together they had 4 children. After moving to Blackduck Karen worked at the Blackduck Bakery, Nortech Inc in Bemidji, and then went to work as a seamstress at Anderson Fabrics in Blackduck, retiring in 2007. Karen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Blackduck. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, knitting, canning, spending time with her family and grandchildren, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and loved her Twins Baseball.
Karen is survived by her children, Richard (Tammy) Davis of Tenstrike, MN, Vicki (Vince) Yerbich of Blackduck, MN, Timmy (Noreen) Davis of Coon Rapids, MN, and Sheri (Scott Kollar) Fogelquist of Elbow Lake, MN; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Peggy (William) Leutenegger, and Cindy Crandall; brother-in-law, Glenn Sieren; aunt Leona Mcarthur (101 years old); and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Davis; parents, Lawrence and Helen Colborn; brothers, Ronald and Richard Colborn; sister, Marilyn Sieren; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Colborn.
