Karen Lee Dowdall, 74, of Canton, Ohio, passed away May 21, 2025, of colon cancer. She was born on March 24, 1951 in Warren, Pennsylvania to the late Leon and Doris (McCulla) Ferry. Prior to moving to Canton, Ohio in 2021, Karen and her husband lived in Jamestown, New York.
Karen was a devoted Christian, and attended Faith Community Church. She was also a member of the Dorcas Women's Sewing Group every Monday. She loved to read, especially both spiritual and religious fiction- she also loved a good mystery. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing and painting. Karen was an avid card writer, and enjoyed trying to encourage people who were going through different things in their lives. Karen always put her family and friends first, she was truly selfless. Through her illness, she was still worried about everyone else first.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Laurence Dowdall; daughter, Sara Lee Dowdall; siblings, Carol (Jim) Toth, Robert "Bob" Ferry and John Ferry; a multitude of nieces and nephews, along with many cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care Center or to American Cancer Society.
