Karen E. Eichman, 78, of Niles passed away on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, at Spectrum Health Lakeland Watervliet Hospital.
She was born on April 1, 1943, in St. Joseph to the late Onam and Florence (Pool) Smith.
Karen was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.
In 1982, Karen married Carl Eichman at a ceremony in Stevensville. The couple combined their love and families and enjoyed many years of traveling adventures including golfing, fishing, especially in Canada and various casinos. Karen was also an amazing cook and grandmother. She worked as an insurance agent and owned and operated Eichman Insurance Agency for a number of years.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Eichman of Niles; children: Lisa Eichman (John Adcock) of Berrien Springs, Karri (Mike) Gordon of Berrien Springs, David (Tammy) Abbott of Watervliet, David (Dana) Eichman of Berrien Springs and Todd Eichman of Berrien Springs; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Barbara (Tony) Erwin of Hamilton, Mich., Anna (Donald) Wilson of St. Joseph, Jimmy (Claudia) Wright of Louisville, Ky., and Chip Smith of Florida.
In keeping with Karen's wishes, she will be remembered privately by her family.
In lieu of flowers Karen's family has requested memorial contributions be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
