Karen Marie Fletcher, 66, of Kaleva, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 13, 1959, at the Fort Lewis Army Base near Tacoma, Washington, Karen was the beloved daughter of Ronald Wolfe and the late Rosemary Wolfe.
Karen grew up in a loving home surrounded by her sisters - Cheryl Thomas, Christine Krehel, Cynthia Kopytek, and Brenda Leonard - who remained close to her throughout her life. A proud graduate of Lapeer East High School, Class of 1977, Karen went on to build a meaningful life rooted in compassion and service. She worked for Lake Orion Community Schools and later as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Manistee, Michigan, where she devoted herself to helping others with genuine care and a warm heart.
Those who knew Karen will remember her as the embodiment of kindness and love. She had the remarkable ability to connect with everyone she met - she truly never met a stranger. Her laughter, optimism, and nurturing spirit filled any room she entered. A caregiver at heart, she dedicated her time not only to her work but to her family, who were the center of her world.
Karen found joy in life's simple pleasures - reading, going to the beach, spending time outdoors (especially during the colorful fall months), and cherishing every moment with her loved ones. The holidays were her favorite time of year, when her sense of joy and togetherness shone brightest.
Karen is survived by her devoted son, Garrett Fletcher, who was her greatest pride and joy and daughter in law Ashlynn, as well as her father Ronald, her loving sisters Cheryl(Jim), Christine, Cynthia(Mark), Brenda, along with John Squires & step - daughters Nichole & Yvonne, 6 Grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
I love you, Mom. Fly high with the angels.
With love, your son, Garrett
A celebration of Karen's life will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, Michigan, with visitation from 11 AM-1 PM and the memorial service at 1 PM. A luncheon will follow at the Oxford American Legion.
