Karen Bradley Garner passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025.

She was born February 22, 1939 in San Francisco California. As a child, she enjoyed going to the beach, the zoo and riding the trolley. Living in California during WWII was quite the experience for Karen and her family. Her dad worked for the railroad so they would get passes to ride the train to McCammon, Idaho each summer to visit grandma and grandpa Johnson and enjoyed playing with the barnyard animals while there.

The family moved to Farmington, Utah when Karen was around 6 years old. Though there were challenging times growing up, there were also many fun and cherished moments with her family. Karen often talked about how fun it was to roller skate all over Farmington, especially around the fishpond in front of the courthouse. Karen was a wonderful sister to her 8 siblings.

Karen graduated from Davis high school and then went to Excelsis beauty school. She met Jim while working in Murray and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 24, 1960. Jim and Karen had four boys: Troy, Todd, Brian, and Jason. Karen was able to open a beauty salon in the basement of their Bountiful home. She loved visiting with the ladies and making their hair look pretty.

Karen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings and loved her family and her faith. She loved to cook and grow beautiful flowers. She selflessly loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her husband, James Allen Garner; her sons Troy (Jane) Garner, Todd (Christine) Garner, Brian (Kimberly) Garner; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Sisters Afton (Lowell) Stevens, Norma (Steve) Smith, Penny (Nick) Rose. She is preceded in death by her son, Jason, and granddaughter; Tara; parents, Hugh and Elozia Bradley, brothers Ben, Ted and Gary Bradley; sisters Colleen Mumford and HuLene Strong.

During the last months of her life, she experienced some significant health challenges, yet she never complained. When asked how things were going, she would always say, “I’m doing just fine. How are you?” She was always thinking of others and not herself. We would like to thank Dignity Hospice for the great care she received, specifically from Daniel and Maria.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Bountiful Tabernacle (55 S. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah), where friends may visit family from 9:30 - 10:30 am prior to services. Services will be live-streamed and may be viewed by scrolling to the bottom of Karen’s obituary page.  Arrangement entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
