Obituary of Karen Sue Gartin
Karen Sue (Susie) Gartin was born April 12, 1953 in Logan, WV, she passed into the presence of her Lord Jesus.on March 5, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thurn and Fay Sias; her husband Curtis Gartin; a son-in-law Tyler Spears; a grandson Harrison Nelson; two brothers Tommy Sias and Terry Sias; and two sisters Kay Given and Beverly Bowman.
She is survived by her three children, Michelle (Paul) Kuharich of Dunbar, WV, Kellie Spears of Louisa, KY, and Michael (Haley) Gartin of Bristol, TN; sisters Patricia Crum of Inez, KY and Thelma (Larry) Sanders of Florence, S.C.; and her precious grandchildren that she loved so dearly, Sadie, Matthew, Elisabeth, Anna Grace, Isaiah, Alistair, and Hendrix.
Susie was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School class of 1971 as well as Huntington School of Beauty Culture. She worked as a hairdresser and excelled in her work. She put all her heart into her customers and came to own and run her own salon, "Totally You" in Huntington, WV. She went above and beyond to help her clients to feel loved and for this as well as her skill she was awarded the "Best In The Tri-State".
Susie never met a stranger. She was a generous, sacrificial, hardworking woman who was also known for her quick wit. She enjoyed finding good bargains at any garage sale or flea market that she came across and giving gifts to others.
Susie loved her family fiercely and anytime they could gather together for a meal she was ready to provide her good country cooking. She will be sorely missed.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday March 7th at 2:00 pm at the Greenlawn Cemetery West Louisa, KY with Bro. Larry Sanders officiating.
Care for Susie and her family has been entrusted to our family at Wilson Funeral Home.
