Karen Lea Hagemeyer, 78, of California passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on September 14, 1947 in California, MO the daughter of Benjamin L. Inman and Florence (Meister) Inman both of whom preceded her in death. She later graduated from California High School in 1965. She then was united in marriage on August 14, 1966 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church to Wayne J. Hagemeyer who survives of the home. Karen worked at Memorial Hospital as an Aide, Missouri State Division of Health, Scherff Truckline, C.J. Harris Lumber Co. now known as California Construction, Secretary and Treasurer for the California Rural Fire Association, Bus driver for 19 years for the California School District, Cajun Catfish House and also worked at Burgher Haus on the breakfast grill. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, MO and was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in California, MO where she was a member of the LWML Evening Guild. Karen enjoyed bingo, needlepoint, collecting angels, and spending time with family and friends. Along with her husband she is survived by 3 daughters, Christina Ann Gish (Larry) of California, MO, Angela Dawn Christian (Dwight) of Holts Summit, MO and Sara Beth Turner (Charles) of Centertown, MO; 7 grandchildren, Larry Wayne Gish, Joseph Quentin Gish, Kodie Ann Gish, Brandon Lee Christian, Abigail Jean Christian, Charlie Twillman Turner and Sam Loesing Turner; 4 great grandchildren, Elise Gish, Alysia Gish, Kendrick Gish and Cataleya Gish; 2 brother in-laws, James Hagemeyer and Charles Thomas; sister in-law, Mary Hagemeyer; 5 nieces and 5 nephews; her special cat, Hemao. Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Milisa Sue Hagemeyer on January 25, 2022; 2 sisters, Connye Tuttle and Jeryl Thomas; mother and father in-law, Milda and Oscar Hagemeyer; sister in-law, Nila Hagemeyer and brother in-law, Paul Tuttle. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 4-7 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in California, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, December 1, 2025 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in California, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Evandro Kopper. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in California, MO. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul's Radio Ministry or the St. Paul's Child Care Ctr. c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services of California, MO.
