Karen Hike Obituary
Karen "Diane" Hike, 79, of New Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City, Kentucky. She was born on Feb. 12, 1943, in Trenton, Michigan, the daughter of Floyd and Valeria Jane (Teague) Wiley.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Steve Karraker officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Diane worked for Teco Barge Line before retirement and was a member of Metropolis Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading and researching about the Civil War.
Diane is survived by her daughter, Kelli Coates of New Columbia; three grandchildren, Chester Nelson IV of St. Peters, Missouri, Bailey Coates of Lubbock, Texas, and Logan Coates of New Columbia; one sister, Gail Barry (Tom) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one brother, Duane Wiley of Newport, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Chester Nelson III.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given in Diane's name to the American Cancer Society, 1 E. Wacker Drive Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60601-1851.
