Karen Hillary Obituary
Carter Funeral Home humbly announces the peaceful transition of Ms. Karen Hillary, of Midway, AL.
Ms. Hillary transitioned into eternal rest Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the age of 63.
The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Friday, August 18, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Life Celebration will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 am from the sanctuary of the New Mt. Silla Missionary Baptist Church of Midway, AL.
Pastor James Person will deliver the message of comfort.
Interment will follow in the New Mt. Silla Baptist Cemetery.
Sis.KAREN HILLARY was born July 28, 1960 in
Barbour County to the late Ruby Williams. She
transitioned from this life on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at her
home.
She joined New Mt. Silla Baptist Church at an early age. She
served her church family as Secretary of the Sunday School and
was a faithful member of the Choir.
Sister Karen was preceded in death by her mother: sons:
Montell and Tamonte; and Mom Flora Hillary who raised her as
her own. Karen attended and graduated from Rebecca Comer
High School in 1978. Karen worked at Wayne Farms and Bonnie
Plant Farm until her health started to decline. Karen enjoyed
the company of her family and friends.
Karen leaves to cherish her memories Madea-Anna Hillary;
4 daughters: Deanna (Brandon) Fortson, Timera (Robert)
Murphy, Morgan and Monica Sellers; 12 grandchildren: Brandon
Jr., Braylen, Jayce, Bri'Elle, Kamille, Brooke, Baileigh, Leroy,
Tenisha, Terrell Jr., Kamora and Kyrie; 2 stepsons: Terrance
(Shanty) and Kelvin (Jessica); a loving companion of 31 years,
Tim Sellers; three sisters: Gwendolyn Williams, Angela Sellers,
and Christine Sellers; four brothers: Rev. John (Wanda) Hillary,
John Sellers, Joe Sellers, and Peter Williams; one uncle, Fred Lee
Hillary, Winter Haven, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends. Special Friends/cousins: Sharon and Tay Simpson,
Valarie Wilson, Emma Williams, Ethel Ford, Debra Stevenson,
and Jacqueline Tarver
