Karen A. Kailher, 74, of Whitman, Massachusetts died on March 23rd at home unexpectedly.

Born in Brockton, Massachusetts in 1951 and first daughter of Frank Hejduk and Katherine (Hasham) Hejduk, she graduated from Brockton High School in 1969 and eventually spent 38 years in several positions for the Whitman Hanson Regional School District.

She was the wife of the late William Kailher and sister of Richard Hejduk and late Donna Hejduk.

Karen’s life was a beautiful testament to kindness and generosity of spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Karen was the proud matriarch of a large family — a role she embraced with her whole heart. Nothing brought her more joy than a full house, lively conversations, and the comforting chaos of children, grandchildren, extended family and friends gathered under one roof. She remembered every birthday, celebrated every milestone, and made each person feel uniquely cherished. Her home was a place where everyone belonged. She had a remarkable way of making people feel cherished. Whether through a warm smile, a thoughtful gesture, or her steady presence in moments of need, she offered comfort without asking for anything in return. She found joy in simple, meaningful moments — tending her garden, sharing a meal, reading a favorite book, or listening to stories and laughter from the people she loved most. Her gentle humor and easy laugh will be remembered by all who heard it.

Karen is survived by her partner Bob Bussey, children and spouses Michael and Margie Kailher, Marc and Ann Kailher, Christine (Bonner) Kailher, Kevin Kailher, Michelle Kailher, late Dennis Kailher, Jeffrey and Kristin Kailher, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday April 1st from 4pm-7pm at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. All are welcome to the Blanchard Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 2nd at 9:45am before proceeding to the Holy Ghost Church in Whitman at 10:30am.
