Karen Lorraine Kelley (77)
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend
Karen Lorraine Kelley, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully after a courageous and long battle with illness, surrounded by her loving family, her devoted son Alan Anderson, (husband of Linda), her cherished daughter Kellie Lamb and son-in-law John Lamb, her precious grandchildren Ryan and Cassie Lamb as well as other close family members who provided unwavering love and support throughout her final days.
Born in Boston and raised in Hyde Park, Karen was the proud daughter of Francis J. Kelley and Rita L. Homer. A graduate of Hyde Park High School (Class of 1966), Karen always remained deeply connected to her roots and cherished the city she called home. She was known for her vibrant spirit and her devotion to community, receiving a Paul Revere Bowl from Mayor White of Boston in 1974. This prestigious award recognized her outstanding contributions to the Boston School System, where she made a lasting impact through her kindness and civic engagement.
Above all, Karen was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She poured love, encouragement, and generosity into her children and grandchildren, always there to offer guidance and a listening ear. She is survived by her adored grandchildren: Ryan Lamb and Fiancé Amber Waller and Cassie Lamb and her partner Joao Carlos Freitas, as well as Zachary and Aria Anderson. These four brought her immeasurable joy and pride, and she reveled in every moment she was able to spent with them.
Karen's creativity and warmth were hallmarks of her character. She had a true passion for arts and crafts, particularly her handmade wreaths, which became well-known for their beauty and craftsmanship. She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from shopping trips to pampering sessions for her nails, to taking vacations whenever possible. But above all, Karen treasured quality time with her family and her fur babies (pets) that she recused throughout the years.
Her legacy is one of unwavering support, generosity, and love. She touched the lives of so many, leaving behind a lasting impact on her family and all who were fortunate to know her. Karen will be deeply missed, but her vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
A private family service will be held to honor Karen's life and memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Parkinson's Foundation, at www.Parkinsons.org.
