Karen Kay Keplinger

Karen K. Keplinger, 82, of Bluffton, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 10:37 AM on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at her home in Bluffton. She was born on October 4, 1942, in Wells County, Indiana, to Raphael "Johnny" Slusher and Elretta (Zoda) Slusher.

On a day filled with promise, she married the love of her life, DeWayne Keplinger, in Dillman, Wells County. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and love. Karen was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was found in caring for her family and others. She was a manager for over 25 years for an apartment company. Her home was always a place of warmth, kindness, and welcome, where countless memories were created and shared. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and lived her life guided by her deep faith.

Karen will be remembered as a woman with a gentle heart and a giving spirit. She loved nothing more than spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. Her legacy of love, devotion, and strength will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Loving survivors include her husband, DeWayne Keplinger of Bluffton, IN; son, Dennis (Andrea) Keplinger of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Tonya (Gregory) Penrod of Bluffton, IN; son, Devin (Tina) Keplinger of Chillicothe, OH; 12 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Gladys Pinkerton and Jean Minch; brothers, Frank Slusher and Dale Slusher; and grandson, Travis Keplinger.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the funeral home with son Dennis Keplinger officiating. Viewing will also be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery in rural Warren.

Preferred memorials may be directed to the Travis Keplinger Memorial Trust Fund and directed to the funeral home at PO Box 366, Warren, IN 46792.
