In accordance with her wish cremation will take place and no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan, Kalamazoo Animal Rescue or the Kalamazoo Humane Society, c/o the funeral home.
Age 77, passed away at Brookdale Assisted Living on May 28, 2023. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on August 3, 1945, the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Lamoreaux) Kimball. Karen was a quiet and gentle woman who loved the peaceful things in life. She loved animals, especially her pet cats. She was a loyal supporter of local animal organizations to improve the life of her feline friends. She worked hard for more than thirty-five years for the State of Michigan Social Services-Child Support Division, where she made a positive impact on the lives of many children. When not working Karen also enjoyed travelling to visit her third-grade pen pal in Germany. She also enjoyed antique shopping with her sister. Karen's kind smile and warmth will be missed by those who loved her. She is survived by her only sister, Alice (Bruce) Cleveland; nephew Douglas Cleveland and niece, Emily McKee. She was also preceded in passing by a niece, Jennifer McKee.
