Karen Kotan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 13, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Georgeanne Kotan, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Karen passed away September 20, 2025 due to health complications. Karen is leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience and grace.

Karen is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Kotan, her two children, Dan Abacherli (spouse Michele Abacherli) and Cindy Stewart; her two cherished granddaughters Sara Blacklock (spouse Eric) and April Warren (spouse Wyatt); and two adored great grandchildren Mavrick and Ayla Blacklock; loving sister Beverly Beaty. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Walter and Stella Foster, cherished sisters Janice Neer and Anita Affa, former husband and father to Dan and Cindy, Ben Abacherli and beloved pup 'Bob the Wonder Dog.'

Karen was a woman of remarkable strength and unwavering compassion. Karen was the heart of her family. She lived her life with purpose and kindness. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless and she took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments. She would shine with happiness for days after spending time or talking with family both near and far. She was a steady source of encouragement, wisdom and warmth to all who knew her, especially her family. She famously always said "why can't everyone just love each other!"

Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the memories she created. She will be deeply missed and forever be remembered in our hearts.
