Karen Ann Krebs, 68, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Wednesday October 22nd at Iles Norwalk Chapel where a Rosary Service will begin at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, October 23rd at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Norwalk Cemetery.
Karen was born on November 8, 1956 to Virgil and Betty Saunders in Des Moines Iowa. She graduated from Johnston High School in 1975. Karen moved to Cumming in 1979 where she raised her family and was an active member of the community before moving to Norwalk in 2000. Karen retired as a Postmaster in 2011 from the United States Postal Service where she held various positions over her 24-year career
Karen shared 18 beautiful years of marriage with the love of her life, her devoted husband, Ron Krebs. From the day they married on August 14, 2004, their bond was built on love, laughter, and unwavering support. Karen's greatest joy was being surrounded by family - her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those she held close. They were the center of her world and the source of her deepest happiness. Her faith was a constant light in her life, guiding her with strength and peace. As a devoted member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, she lived each day with grace, kindness, and a heart full of love.
Survivors include children: Ryan (Rebecca) Doll of Ottawa, IL, Rodney (Justin) Doll of Calhan, CO, Lori (Dan) Buske of Norwalk; stepdaughter: Shona (Chris) Hunt of Des Moines; grandchildren: Jamie Doll, Paisley Buske, Lawson Buske, Avrey Doll, Jarryd Hunt, Kayla (Trever) Jack, Alex Hunt, Vicki Dugan, Harley Dugan, Kaitlyn Krebs, Stephanie Krebs; great grandchildren: Zayn Brose, Zoey Hunt, Holly Hunt-Rich, Brix Jack; siblings, Randy (Debi) Saunders, Linda (Mitch) Montgomery and numerous nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Krebs; her parents; son, Rusty Doll; step son, Brett Krebs; siblings, Harold Saunders, and Sandy Terry.
