Karen D. Mason

Karen D. Mason, 79 of Zephyrhills, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 after a long illness which she fought so hard to come back from. Karen and her beloved husband, Dick (or Richard) as she called him often, moved here in July of 2005 from Ithaca, New York where she retired as an Account Specialist for Cornell University's Plantations Office. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ithaca.
Karen had so many talents, including- quilting, painting, home decorating, sewing, and knitting. She founded ABC for Kids in Ithaca where she collected money and gifts and donated gifts to disadvantaged children all over who were less fortunate; this has now grown exponentially since she founded it. Karen was also a New York Yankees fan as well as New York Giants fan. The most important thing in Karen's life was her family, including her husband, sons, and grandsons; they were the loves of her life.
Karen is survived by her devoted husband Richard (Dick) E. Mason; her sons, Jeffrey and Gretchen Mason and Gregory and Jenifer (Ross) Mason; her brother, Michael DeLong and her precious grandchildren, Samuel (Paige) Mason Eriksen and William John Mason as well as many friends too numerous to mention. Karen had a spirit and spunk about her that is unrivaled.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 11 o'clock am at Coastal Cremations & Funeral Care 38333 5th Ave. Zephyrhills, Fl 33542 (the old Zephyrhills News Building) where a Celebration of her beautiful life will be held.
