Karen McFarland, 64, of Waltham passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, November 6th at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA.
Born to the late Grace Buscemi and Robert McFarland in Boston, MA. on October 10th, 1960.
Kind and generous Karen was always willing to help anyone in need. She was an avid hockey fan who never wanted to miss watching a Boston Bruins game. What brought her the most joy was the summers she spent at York Beach, Maine with family, her partner Patrick and her 2 dogs Xena and Toastie.
In her spare time, Karen also enjoyed playing pool in leagues or out enjoying casual games with Patrick and friends. The holidays were a special time for her, it meant spending quality time with family and it was an excuse to spoil her young nieces and nephews.
Karen is survived by her loving and devoted partner of 27yrs. Patrick Gatta of Waltham, her two longtime friends that she considered family, Francine Whittemore of Canton, MA. and Dana Fessenden of Waltham, MA. along with other family whom she loved dearly.
At this time Karen's family will be celebrating her life privately. As an expression of sympathy in Karen's memory the family ask that you spend time with those you love as often as you can, to take moments out of a day to spread random acts of kindness wherever you go to whomever you meet and above all, be grateful for each day God grants because it's truly a gift.
