Karen Diane Mitchell (nee Richter), of Lake Saint Louis, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the age of 61. Loving wife of Randy "Mitch" Mitchell; beloved daughter of the late Joyce and Clifford J. Richter; dear sister of Kevin (Kathy) Richter; cherished aunt of Kimberly Richter and Dan Richter.
Karen was a passionate car enthusiast and proud member of the Mustang Car Club. She received two awards from the Ford Motor Company. She was recognized for her strength as a “car girl with cancer,” a fight that never slowed her down. Karen had an incredible knowledge of cars—especially Mustangs—and enjoyed restoring them, racing cars, and riding motorcycles. She also loved crafts and adored her cats, who were truly her babies. Karen was often found at Whisker Station with Mitch, spending time with the animals she loved. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whisker Station in Kirkwood, MO.
311 Wood St., O'Fallon, MO 63366
