Obituary of Karen Ellen Perry

April 4, 1944 - February 3, 2026

Karen Ellen Perry. Age 81 of Wyandotte.

Karen was born on April 4, 1944 ( 4-4-44, the coolest birthday ever!) in Belleville, Michigan, to Arthur and Anna Carnill.

Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty years, Bill Perry. She is survived by her devoted children: Dawn Perry (Jason Kwiatkowski), Shawn Perry, and Shannon Rosales (Dennis). She was a loving grandmother to Divinna (Eddy) and Dempsii (Martin), and a cherished great-grandmother to Luna and Sol. Karen is also survived by her brother (Don Carnill), nieces, and nephews.

Karen loved growing up on her family farm and was a proud graduate of Belleville High School. She spent most of her adult life in Wyandotte, where she built a warm and welcoming home filled with conversation, laughter, and love.

Karen was extremely devoted to her family. She was a stay-at-home mother for many years and lovingly cared for and watched neighborhood children during the day. Later in life, she chose to work outside the home, dedicating many years to Value Village and later Home Depot, from which she retired. She took pride in her work and the friendships she built along the way.

Karen deeply enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on family vacations (where she always brought laughter). She was an enthusiastic Detroit Tigers fan and never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation with anyone around her. Known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and willingness to help others, Karen was truly loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The dedication to her faith began in her early childhood at the Wyandotte Christian Church, where she attended with her parents. She centered her life around her strong beliefs, including helping with children's groups, meeting and marrying her husband in the church, and all the way to watching services from her bed in her final months. She had a true servant's heart, caring not for physical things but rather about fostering genuine connections and spreading kindness and love.

Even in her final years, she supported those in need by lovingly creating decorations and placemats for the Rotating Church Overnight Shelter, bringing comfort and warmth to those in need.

In honor of Karen's giving spirit, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to ChristNet.

Karen's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love.
