Oh Karen, how I will miss you. Our early morning walks, conversations and most of all, the laughter we shared. How ironic, you passed on the day I embarked on the ship to Antarctica -one on your bucket list! Was looking forward to sharing photos and the adventure at the end of the world! Sent you a postcard from Penguin Post Office in Port Lockroy, Antarctica but time was not to be. I will cherish the time there was -so glad our paths crossed. Hasta la vista, my dear friend.

she was a profound influence on my life --- shaping my life, really, by inviting me to come to Germany and, 22 years later when I returned told me Santa Fe was the only place I should consider living....been here ever since....have shared so much time with her for over 50 years it's hard to understand I will never see her again... such an original thinker.... grateful to have known her....bon voyage, dear one
