Karen was born February 18, 1942, in Harrison County, Iowa, to the late Harold L. and Maude D. (Jones) Morlan. She attended Roosevelt Grade School and Thomas Jefferson High School. Karen married Lloyd Ray on September 19, 1962. She was a nurse aide at Northcrest Care Center for 32 years and cared for her mother while she lived next door. Karen enjoyed collecting Betty Boop memorabilia; car shows with her beloved Lloyd; casinos and eating out.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Lloyd Ray on October 13, 2009; brother, Donald Morlan and her favorite cat of 14 years, "Sweetie Pie".
Karen is survived by her sisters, Betty Thomas, of Council Bluffs, Bonnie Yother and husband, Lou, of Jacksonville, Ark.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Delores Ray, of Fresno, Calif.; sister-in-law, Mary Rose Walters, of Council Bluffs; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation with the family, Friday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Saturday, 11 a.m., at the mortuary with Rev. Dr. Eberhard A. Hering officiating. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
